Day 3

We once again woke to cloudy weather, but no rain.  We had breakfast and then caught a bus (Bus 24 conveniently stops directly outside our hotel, the Luna Simone) to Trafalgar square and took a wander up towards Piccadilly Circus, so that the girls could browse the shops.

One thing we have noticed on this visit to London is the amount of construction work that is going on ahead of the Olympics next year.  There is scaffolding up literally all over the place!  Not good for photos.....

The it was off to the Westminster tube station to meet up for another London Walk

We LOVE the London Walks!!  This walk was fantastic, it took in the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, St James' Park, Buckingham Palace and the Changing of the Guards (awesome!) and various other bits and pieces, ending at Trafalgar Square.  The guide was lovely, happy to answer questions, and very interesting.

We went to yet another lovely pub for lunch.  (We reckon you can't beat the pubs for value for money meals, with the added incentive of a wide variety of beer and yummy, yummy Pimms)

We then had an aborted attempt to go to Greenwich - we had planned to take a boat trip up to Greenwich from Westminster Pier, as we enjoyed it so much last time, but when we got there we realised that the last boat came back way too early for us (they're not on Summer time schedule yet) and as the DLR wasn't working we would have been stranded in Greenwich.  Oh dear.

Plan B was to head off to Covent Garden, which we did and we had a lovely wander around there.

By this time we were feeling a tad tired.  Two days of pretty much non-stop walking was taking its toll!  So we decided to head back to our hotel for a rest (and for me to catch up on my blog)

For supper we went to a really nice Dim Sum restaurant nearby, where Grant nearly burnt his finger off, playing with his cell phone, but that's another story.....
